Ballroom Dreams in Duluth

The setting: Greysolon Ballroom | Duluth, Minnesota

The requests: classic black & white

The details: one bridal bouquet, nine bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, bud vases for the guest table centerpieces, floral and decor for the large king’s head table, an arch installation and ceremony arrangements, and two more large feature installations on two separate mantels.

Classic black tuxes with bow ties for the men and sleek black dresses for the ladies made these greenery bridesmaid bouquets pop. The bride opted for a modern reflexed-rose bouquet and she truly stole the show (as she should) in her off the shoulder ballgown!

The couple loved the idea of a classic, elegant black and white wedding. The ballroom is vintage and ornate with creams, golds, and greens so utilizing an exclusively white color palette with dark greenery allowed the florals to stand out against the ballroom space without competing for attention.

All the little details came together with the help of the Ashley Skeie team. Candles galore set the mood in the ballroom once the lights were dimmed. We just can’t get enough of this stunning couple and their day. Thanks for trusting us with your vision Mr. and Mrs. Trusty! Cheers to a lifetime of love and marriage.

Modern Fall Marriage

The setting: Woodhaven | Cannon Falls, Minnesota

The requests: modern boho

The details: one bridal bouquet, twelve bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, bud vases and floating candles for the guest table centerpieces, floral and decor for the large king’s head table, an arch installation and ceremony arrangements, and two more large feature installations on two separate mantels.

Phew! That’s a long list of to-dos! This gorgeous new venue (built in 2021) is clean and modern. It’s a giant, white, blank slate just begging for amazing decor and florals. Our bride wanted just that! She knew she wouldn’t fill the whole space, but wanted to make sure that the floral pieces we created balanced the light and airy ceremony and reception spaces.

Having 24 wedding party attendants sure makes for a grand time….and a whole lot of flowers! We reused the bridesmaid bouquets for guest table centerpieces to optimize the florals. Having a big wedding party and a big guest list results in many guest tables and creating three different centerpiece designs to keep things interesting.

The modern boho request was accomplished through mostly neutral blooms, fun textures, brown/tan accents, and orchids (special request from the bride). This day was so full of personal moments and details and knowing that the flowers were able to bring that same level of personality is so gratifying. Huge thanks and congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Bauer!

Married in Milwaukee

The setting: Birch | Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

The requests: lush greenery with all the white blooms

The details: one bridal bouquet, six bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, unique ribbon-tied corsages, greenery for the guest table centerpieces and large king’s head table, and a large installation mounted on copper pipe behind the head table.

This wedding is unique because it was mine! Being such a type A personality (read: control freak) I couldn’t imagine letting someone else do my florals. I decided to be my own wedding vendor and it truly was the most stressful part of our day, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Everything turned out exactly as planned and all the help from our amazing family and friends really made my vision come to life within a tight timeline.

I loved the idea of timeless greenery and white blooms, but added a twist with making my bridal bouquet incorporate the white blooms, but giving the bridesmaids full greenery bouquets. We utilized garden roses, standard roses, scabiosa, ranunculus, stock, and lisianthus + all the greenery!

Fall Winery Wedding

The setting: Winehaven Winery | Chisago City, Minnesota

The requests: cream, burgundy and blush with good textures for the personals, additional stems needed to enhance the faux greenery being used to decorate the reception tables

The details: one bridal bouquet, three bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres for groomsmen, mothers, fathers, and grandparents. We also had a couple small arrangements to be set on display tables, and we provided approximately 100 fresh cut blooms to decorate the reception tables

When we started to discuss florals for this fall winery wedding a couple requests started leading the conversations: the bride loved the look of white anemone and she wanted burgundy dahlias to tie in with the bridesmaid dresses and the groom’s suit (yes, it was burgundy!).

We utilized cream and blush roses, white anemone, white alstroemeria, burgundy carnations, burgundy dahlias (a few even grown in the bride’s mom’s garden!), burgundy hypericum berries, leucadendron, and eucalyptus and israeli ruscus greenery.

The mix of large focal blooms like the dahlias and roses mixed with the small textural details of the hypericum berries and the alstroemeria brought the bride’s vision to life.

We added in gold accents to round out the design: bouquet ribbons and vases.

The variation of colors in the bouquets tie the bridesmaid dresses and groom’s suit together without being too matchy-matchy and allow some contrasting colors so the beautiful flowers don’t fade away in the photos.

Extra stems (approximately 100+) were all cut on site, day-of, to ensure freshness. Each bloom was carefully placed to enhance the centerpieces and help to liven up the faux greenery that was used. This is such a great way to maximize a budget – use real blooms and faux greenery.

We are so thrilled with how everything turned out and are so thankful to Mr. and Mrs. Cartwright for trusting us to be their floral vendor on their wedding day!
